Kim Kardashian’s Divorce Getting Ugly

For a couple that was only married for 72 days, the divorce proceedings for Kim Kardashian and estranged husband Kris Humphries are taking a long time to complete. The situation becomes even more inexplicable considering the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

Earlier this week, Humphries’ divorce lawyer argued in court that the legal team for Kardashian has been holding up the discovery process. “I don’t want to use the word uncooperative, but they are not making the process easier,” said Humphries’ lawyer.

Kardashian’s lawyer refuted this claim, insisting that they have been cooperative throughout the entire process. Additionally, Kardashian’s divorce lawyers have already spent $250,000 on the case so far and plan to recoup these costs from Humphries.

From day one, this has been a rather unusual divorce proceeding. Humphries countered Kardashian’s request for a divorce with a request for an annulment. He also accused Kardashian of defrauding him by going through with their marriage strictly to garner TV ratings and additional attention from the press.

Humphries’ lawyer plans to depose 33 witnesses, including Kardashian’s mother and her current boyfriend, Kanye West. Humphries believes Kardashian was having an affair with West during their marriage.

A 72 day marriage with a prenuptial agreement should normally be relatively straightforward and resolve itself rather quickly. However, nothing seems to go smoothly for Reality TV stars. Why should this divorce be any different?
