Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds File for Divorce

Earlier this month, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds filed for divorce in Los Angeles. Johansson, 26, and Reynolds, 34, decided to end their marriage after only two years. They were married in a wilderness retreat in Canada in 2008.

The couple cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their divorce. Each of them has been forced to spend extensive time away from home working on location of the films they star in. It appears that this distance proved to be too much for the couple to survive.

However, it does appear that the breakup was rather civil. Reynolds and Johansson released a joint statement saying, "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it."

While their divorce has not yet become final, Reynolds and Johansson quickly became two of the most eligible bachelors in the Hollywood scene.

Eva Longoria Files for Divorce

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria has filed for divorce after discovering that her husband, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, cheated on her with multiple women. Parker reportedly had an affair with the wife of his teammate, Brent Barry.

Longoria learned of the affair with Barry's wife when she found hundreds of text messages between Parker and Barry in her husband's cell phone. Parker has also had an affair with Alexandra Paressant, a French woman who he met at his own wedding.

It is likely that this divorce can get messy, considering the sizable assets of Parker and Longoria. Parker has a lucrative basketball career, and Longoria has a lucrative acting career. Their relationship has been quite acrimonious ever since Longoria learned of Parker's infidelities. As a result, the division of marital property may not go very smoothly.

Longoria is not the first woman with a high profile professional athlete husband to file for divorce due to marital infidelity. Last year, Tiger Woods and his wife divorced after she discovered Woods had cheated on her repeatedly during their marriage.
