Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes File for Divorce
It looks like Tom Cruise’s latest marriage will end the same
way his first two did – in divorce.
Last Friday, it was announced that Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from
Cruise after six years of marriage. They have one daughter together.
Sources have indicated that Katie Holmes has taken her
daughter Suri and moved into a new apartment in New York. She is reportedly
seeking sole child
custody of their daughter.
Tom Cruise is currently in Iceland shooting a new movie.
However, his publicist released a statement saying that he is devastated and
heartbroken by his latest divorce. Interestingly, all three of Cruise’s
marriages have ended when his wife was 33 years old. Is this an odd pattern or
simply a strange coincidence? Most likely, Cruise is the only one who can
answer this question with any degree of certainty.
It is still uncertain the extent to which Cruise’s devotion
to Scientology impacted Katie Holmes’ decision to divorce him. However, there
has been speculation that she was concerned about Cruise’s desire to send their
daughter to Sea Org, an organization affiliated with the Church of Scientology.
Katie Holmes will soon join Nicole Kidman and Mimi Rogers as
the women who were formerly married to Tom Cruise. How long before this
exclusive club adds a fourth member?
